POLA PEMBERDAYAAN BERBASIS ASET SEBAGAI UPAYA DALAM MENINGKATKAN TARAF HIDUP (Kasus Pemulung di kota Surabaya )

Abstract

Increasing the amount of urbanization in the city of Surabaya, East Java Province Indonesia give a distinctive impact in the availability of jobs in the formal sector so as an alternative to the informal sector is switched on. One of the informal sector is working as scavengers that one of the jobs that attracted many migrants in urban areas. Although this scavenger community life in all its limitations, but they are still able to survive in the city and sought to improve his life. That is because as they have assets that include physical assets, financial, human resources and social capital, though the asset is classified as low, so it needs to be developed through an empowerment model based assets. The empowerment model includes 3 pogram scavenger activities, namely imaging, partnered in their villages and life skill .With the program is expected they can improve their standard of living.
