EKSISTENSI KESENIAN BANTENGAN SEBAGAI PELESTARI KEARIFAN LOKAL (LOCAL WISDOM) UNTUK MEWUJUDKAN CIRI KHAS KABUPATEN MOJOKERTO

Abstract

If Surabaya has Ludruk and Remo, Bandung has Sisingaan, Palembang has Ririmau, Jakarta has Lenong and-ondel, Yogyakarta has Ketoprak (not Ketoprak Jakarta) Ponorogo has Reyog (not reog) and Banyuwangi has Gandrung and Jangger, Probolinggo has Glipang, Kediri , Tulungagung and Terri had jaranan, then Mojokerto got what ?. Local wisdom Bantengan is still thrive in District Pacet Mojokerto. But why Bantengan itself cannot be regarded as a hallmark of Mojokerto regency or identity? Bantengan is one of the local cultural heritage in the District Pacet Mojokerto. Called Bantengan, as the main element of this art is a form of head of bull, made of cow horn which made the head of the timber. Local wisdom is to be preserved amid the cultural shift due modernity. Strengthening local wisdom art Bantengan is needed by empowering groups Bantengan art. The existence of Bantengan art groups will form the hallmark of Mojokerto local wealth. If actualization of Bantengan art is supported by the local government, tourism industry will be one of the mainstay attractions of tourism sector, an important and strategic for Mojokerto regency as a supporting tourist destination.
