Abstract

The 2019 Election was the first general elections to be held in Indonesian history. KPU as the
organizer of the General Election conducted socialization aimed at increasing voter participation. This
is done in many ways, one of which is by creating and displaying Public Service Ads which uploaded on
theKPURI Youtube account. This study aims to determine the tendency of the contents of messages that
persuade people to use their voting rights. The method used is a qualitative descriptive study, in which
the researcher analyzes and calculates thecontents of the message contained in 11 Public Service
Advertisements videos relating to the 2019Election.
The results of this study found 53 messages in the 2019 Election Public Service Adverts series.
Thetheme contained in the 2019 Election Public Service Adverts is the theme of invitation to be active in
theelectoral process, especially those related to permanent voter lists, invitations to recognize election
participants and attend to the polls, the theme of family-based election education and socialization of
disability rights in elections, the theme of the stages of the election and also an animated video with the
theme of electing leaders when election day arrives.
