MOTIF MAHASISWA PRODI ILMU KOMUNIKASI UNIVERSITAS BHAYANGKARA SURABAYA DALAM MENGAKSES BERITA MELALUI MEDIA ONLINE

Abstract

With the existence of communication technplogy so now student or society more aesily access information in the form of news, tips, articles, video, and others with the online media (internet). Online media communication (internet) is very important because it has become a basic requirement among the students or the community. The problem in this research is why this student prefer online media than other media to access a news or informations. With the aim to find out the reasons or motives of students often access online media. The object of research in this problem is at the university campus bhayangkara surabaya science communication program. And research method that is descriptive quantitave with data collecting technique by spreading kuisioner and observasi. The result obtained there are four factors that cause students to access online media that is the information factor, personal identity factor, integrity factor and social interaction, then the last factor is the entertaiment factor. Of the four factors of the students prefer to agree (57,1%) because students othder online media rather than other media. White those who strongly agree (22,5%) because online media have become part of their lives, and yhe hesitant (17,8%) for assuming online news is often not in accordance with news from other media such as television or newspapers.
