Abstract

Television in Indonesia generally presents glamour impressions, violence, and mystical. Almost all television content to show things like that without considering the effect that the public received. We see the impressions each day with a portion of violence, glamour and pornography are very dominant. Didactic impressions rarely find a place primarily on prime time hours. Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) itself is still a question mark against the existence of such cases. They are still debating the authority associated with Act or regulations that could entrap the perpetrator. Solutions already offer many of the most vociferous of them is the concept of media literacy. In the era of regional autonomy and to accelerate the development process, each local government to form an empowerment group that is Community Information Group (KIM). KIM can be used as front guard in promoting media literacy programs. Because they are formed from the community and its members are of the opinion leaders in each region. The purpose of this paper is expected to give suggestions on the functioning of KIM as a media literacy education.
